Travel to Leysin

Leysin Map

Travel to Leysin is quick and straightforward from Geneva Airport with a journey time of less than 2 hours. The railway platform is situated immediately below the airport lobby and English is spoken at the ticket office. A scenic train journey around the shore of Lake Geneva (Lac Leman), passing Vevey, Montreux and the striking Chateau de Chillon, brings you to the town of Aigle just beyond the lake. Here you cross the platform to connect with a cog railway going straight up the mountainside to Leysin.

To reach Hotel Le Grand Chalet, disembark at the highest station (Grand Hotel / American College), turn left and walk 2 minutes (passing the Hiking Sheep Guest House) to the hotel. Alternatively, it is sometimes necessary to disembark at the larger Feydey Station (see map), in which case, walk up-hill and reach the Grand Chalet in about 7mins.

From Zurich airport the journey takes around 4 hours by train.
