After cutting his teeth on early rock climbing and mountaineering trips to Europe and the Yosemite Valley in California. Stuart then went on to explore adventurous and unclimbed routes around the world. In 2003 he was nominated for the prestigious Piolet d’Or Award for his new route in Alaska, he then went on to climb a new route on a huge 1,400m wall over 21 days on Baffin Island and then earlier in 2013 climbed Cerro Torre in Patagonia. We welcome Stuart to the ISM team.

Originally from Cumbria, Stuart now lives in Llanberis, North Wales. Previously he worked at Plas y Brenin as a senior instructor working on MIA and MIC training and assessment courses and is now one of our core team of guides.
Good mixture of progressive instruction and learning, climbing and guiding. We climbed some very good mountains from good huts and made the best of the mixed weather conditions. The course also used a range of situations and locations to cover a wide range of skills and techniques. Donald Connolly · Classic AlpinISM (Instructional Course)
