Conservation Work with the Cumbria Wildlife Trust
Peatland Conservation work with the Cumbria Wildlife Trust.
Peatlands, wetlands and bogs – the best weapon we have against climate change and locking away carbon. These habitats are Cumbria’s most important carbon store. Unfortunately lack of care has left these habitats a brown and broken wasteland leaking carbon, that has been locked away for thousands of years, back in into our warming atmosphere. Working with the Cumbria Wildlife Trust participants will carry out important peatland conservation work. This session takes place in a location approximately a 30 minute drive with an organised minibus shuttle from the Sticklebarn. The approach is a 1 mile walk up an uneven, steep path.
This session will run -
9am to 12.30pm - Saturday Morning
1.30pm to 5pm - Saturday Afternoon
Please specify on your booking form whether you would like to book the morning or afternoon session.
Participants are encouraged to give a £5.00 donation to Cumbria Wildlife Trust. You can donate HERE
